With development of society and improvement of national economy productivity, information construction has become inevitable development trend in all areas of social and life. As an industry with a long history, traditional dining industry is also facing forward to the challenges of information construction. With improvement of living standards and changing of lifestyle, service requirement of dining industry is also rising. In order to improve efficiency and service of restaurants and promote the comprehensive information management, wireless ordering system was born.This paper based on analyzing current situation at home and abroad and development trend of the wireless ordering system, proposes the design that the embedded system is as a wireless ordering system solution. This system's hardware carrier is 2410 board. The system uses ARM S3C2410 CPU and embedded Linux operating system, and application is developed by Qt application development tool.This system achieves the following features:self-ordering, ad video playing and information inquiring. Interface is friendly, and operation is simple. Self-ordering includes the following features:menu browsing, category inquiring, spelling inquiring, ordering, order viewing, order confirming, paying and human service calling. Ad video playing achieves the feature that in the case that at a certain time touch screen isn't operated ad video automatically loop plays, and when receiving touching operation system stops playing video and returns to main interface. Information inquiring feature includes the following features:restaurant profile, feature introduction and web browsing. It is involved that the function modules for supporting system functions, interface design, database management, data communication, video playing and web browsing how to realize.The design can replace traditional manual ordering realizing customer self-ordering, makes up the shortfall of traditional ordering way, and provides a comprehensive information management solution for restaurants.
