Design And Realization Of Web Content Management System

The rapid development of the information technology and network technology has accelerated the process of social informatization. As the carrier of the information, website is even more important. To take the school education for an example, with the development of higher education informatization, many institutions of higher education pay more and more attention to the Remote Network Education which is based on the medium of multimedia technology and network communication technology. China's Ministry of education, enlightened by Open Course Ware of MIT, has launched the construction project of excellent course whose purpose was to share the excellent teaching resources and improve the quality of teaching and talent training. One of the important works of excellent course construction is to develop the excellent course website.However, there are many disadvantages in the progress of developing a website according to the traditional method. For example, the requirement for professional technology of website administrator is higher, the amount of repeated work is large, the update of website is difficult, and the costs of maintenance and management are expensive, etc. This paper studied the principle of content manage. Based on the construct of the excellent course website, guided by the principle of software reuse and oriented-object, the paper designed and developed one Web Content Management System that the purpose is to realize the rapid construction of the excellent course website and the efficiency of resource management. This web content management system adopted the idea of content management. Content management system separates the content from the management and enhances the reusability of the software and the efficiency of the information management.This web content management system is a kind of software which is between client and management system, it separated the web content from the page-display. The designs of page are stored in templates and data is stored in relative database or file servers. When a user send HTTP request, the relative data is retrieved from database and put into a proper template according to some rules defined before, finally, a complete HTML page is shown to user. Using this web content management system can shorten the develop cycle of the excellent course website, reduce the requirement of the administrator's technical, save the costs of develop and maintenance, etc.Based on the Browser/Server structure and MVC design mode, the whole system was developed using Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 as specific development platform, C sharp as the programming language, SQL Server 2008 as the database. This web content management realized the efficient management of multi-website and network resources.
