The rapid development of electronic technology and the development trendency of miniaturization, light weight and high reliability of electronic manufacturing make the design of printed circuit board (PCB) more complex. Meanwhile, the available electronic aided design softwares usually focus on the design but neglect the manufacturing, which cause the checkup of PCB design still stays at the artificial stage with the problem of subjective, poor reliability and low efficiency. Therefore, how to checkup the machinability of PCB design faster and more accurate is becoming a problem which must be solved.This paper analyzes various heterogeneous electronic design automation (EDA) file formats in OrCAD and VeriBest software. Also a normalized format of document data for EDA file is designed. Then the technology of EDA data isomorphism conversion is achieved and the problem of the source of processing data is solved. Through analysing and sunmmarizing the processing data examination rules, the rule database is designed and implemented. For the problem that a wide variety of processing data need to be checked, it formulates a unified automatic checkup process. Then an automatical checkup system for PCB manufacturing process data based on the checkup rules is designed. Finally, through the research of visualization technology, the checkup results visualization is represented.The system designed in this paper completes automatic checkup of EDA files, Gerber files and drilling files directly, which changes the traditional pattern of artificial check and improves the check efficiency. The test results show that the interface of the system is flexible, the coverage rate of checking is high, the interactive between man and machine is strong and with the characteristic of easy to manage, easy to expand and high visualization degree.This system only applies to the common EDA tools and requires to be extended in future studies. In addition, the design specification and check rules need to be further updated and improved to meet the future needs of PCB manufacturing.
