Along with the increase of broadband network and information processingtechnology progress, people needs more and more wide multimedia business. Videocoding technology as multimedia technology is an important part of research at homeand abroad, have already become one of the hottest and industrial applications. Manyvideo coding schemes are proposed and used in constant, and H.264 is the mosteffective decoding standards.H.264 improve the coding efficiency in substantially, but also because of complexoperation for H.264, embedded application brings huge obstacles. Therefore how tovalidate the H.264 encoder, which encoding algorithm has large computationcomplexity, and if the encoder is highly efficient coding coder performance, all these areimportant research topics. Therefore, this dissertation designs and choses a certain new validation platform, using hardware and software collaborative verification method, to one H.264/AVCvideo coding core for hierarchical validation. This dissertation mainly studies the SoC of software and hardware co-design andverification technologies, constructs two kinds of validation platform suitable for thechip, namely the virtual prototyping validation platform and FPGA prototype validateplatform, these two kinds of validation platform complementary advantages, canimprove the quality and efficiency of verification.Based on the above validation platform, from the subjective and objective qualityevaluation Angle, this dissertation introduces the validation from module level andsystem level validation, combining h.264 / AVC video coding algorithm and therealization of the core configuration of coding core. The correctness of the coding corefunctions and properties of high efficiency are demonstrated finally.
