The Design And Implementation Of Government Information Resource Metadata Directory Service System

In recent years, with the development of the Internet, e-government has also been a rapid development. Information resources, the core of e-government, are more and more content, more and more widely. But since there is no uniform norms and standards, and each quite common for the camp, this rapid development is showing a variety of ways, storage locations scattered, non-uniform transmission, access ways and many different issues, and queries and share of government information resources are more difficult, repeated construction, more duplication of investment.Metadata is the description of information resources, with the attributes of unity, scalability and self-descriptive, and provides a practical and easy way for information management, discovery and access. People could comprehend information resource in detail and deep through metadata, including information resource format, quality, dispose method and acquire method and so on. Directory is a database for optimize read operation, which is a tree like level structure and provide unify denominate, description, and orientation for various information resource in an organization. Directory services offer a uniform listing, the network system manage various information resources centralized in network. This paper is based on lucubrate the correlated technology of metadata and directory services, combine both characteristic and establish a metadata directory services system, aim to provide reliable government information metadata for conform various government information resource efficiently and realize the share and exchange of distributed excessive fountain government information.(1) This paper analyzed the research, development and application on metadata technology and catalog service.(2) This paper proposed a faceted-based retrieval algorithm in the field of government information resources. (3) This paper made deep research and discuss on government information resource directory service system framework, and propose a feasible solution.(4) This paper proposed the design and implementation of the government information resource metadata directory service system.The subject comes from the lab project built by Donghua University and Shanghai Baosight inc. This paper designs and implements the government information resource metadata directory service system based on the national standard "Government Information Resource Catalog Architecture". Management of government information resource unified description can prevent from duplication among various departments, help interoperability, sharing and exchange, and facilitate users'visit and resource management.
