Temperature measurement and control have an extensive application in the professions, such as industry, agriculture and national defense etc. The temperature measuring system based on single-chip microcomputer is small, reliable and widely deployed. According to this, the work in this thesis analyzes, designs and implements a greenhouse data acquisition system.In the greenhouse data acquisition system, the digital wireless temperature sensor is integrated and smart. It consists of three parts:the temperature measuring (sending), temperature processing (receiving) and display. The temperature measuring part utilizes digital temperature sensor DS18B20 with A/D. It is small in size, highly integrated, and low in power comsuming. The single-chip microcomputer AT89C51 is the processing part. The sending/receiving module PTR8000 is for temperature transmission. At the measuring point, it receives data from the processing part, and then transmits data wirelessly. Meanwhile, it sends data to display via RS-232C interface in the form of asynchronous serial communication. The presentation of temperature in display is implemented by Visual Basic 6.0. Data will be stored in a database created by Microsoft SQL Server 2008, and also displayed in dynamic webpages supported by PHP5+apache in Internet.
