With the boom of the mobile communication technology and its related hardware, as well as the sharp reduce on the cost, the mobile phone density has reached a new high and its performance has been improved constantly, too. High-resolution and touched screen, camera, Bluetooth, GPS and other advanced technology make mobile phones more and more powerful. The mobile phone becomes a multimedia intelligent mobile terminal. As one of the most popular application and also the main part of the value-added service, the mobile game growing rapidly, and its market has gained a double income for successive years. The mobile game becomes the focus of competition of software developers.J2ME is a prevalent technology and an important infrastructure development platform of wireless applications. The launch of the J2ME technology offered a revolutionary solution for the intelligence and variety of the mobile phone.The players prefer the online games with interaction and athletics to the console games. Two main traditional technologies of the mobile online games are the wide-link technology based on the GPRS and the local area link based on the infrared. The former one has reached maturity, while the latter one came up with the difficulty in taking even a step because of the limit of the infrared. With its high speed and low cost, the Bluetooth technology pointed a new direction for the local area interconnection and also showed a great potential in the mobile game.An intensive study on the Bluetooth-based Mobile Online Game with the J2ME platform and Java Bluetooth API is made in this paper. First, a specific elaboration of the structure of J2ME with the example of the CLDC and MIDP is made; following are the key technology and problems encountered during the development as well as the analysis of the application of the J2ME-POLISH. On the above basis a Bluetooth game is designed with JAVA communication model and the Java Bluetooth API. The designs of the structure, as well as the main class are expounded as the main part of this paper. The key codes are also attached in this paper. Meanwhile, the key technical problems in programming design are described in detail。Furthermore, the design has been tested with simulator and the real mobile phone environment. The problems encountered during this process has been effectively solved and optimized. Finally are a summarization and a look-forward-to-the-future of the design and development of the mobile game.
