With the rapid development of China's economy, people's living standard has been greatly improved, people's consumer attitudes started to change.Traveling becomes an important component of people's life. With the advent of tourism boom, travel agencies and travel companies mushrooming developed. Meanwhile, it is an important issue for the travel companies to promote their tourism and for the tourists to choose a suitable tourism project. On the other hand, the development of communication technology causes the number of mobile phone user dramatic increase in China. And mobile phones are already become common electronic consumable products.As the coming of 3G,more and more people can connect to the Internet through mobile phone. If they can use mobile devices for travel services booking, it will greatly facilitate the tourists to choose their tourism projects, and the tourism companies can promote their travel services based on mobile platform in order to effectively solve the problems.In this paper, we propose and develop a travel services reservation system based on Java ME Platform because of the shortcomings of existing travel management system. This paper first describes the research background and significance of the subject and describes the relevant international research status and development trends; secondly, introduced the topic by the use of relevant theory and knowledge, and describes the commonly used development tools; and then describes the Object-oriented analysis and design theory and implementation technology, and to outline the commonly used modeling tools; then introduce the unit testing application for the Java ME; Finally, the development of the subject of this project were summarized and prospects.The system is divided into two parts:mobile client-side based on Java ME technology and back-end server based on Java EE technology. System development tool is Netbeans6.7. The implementation technology includes Java ME, JSP, Servlet and JavaBean. We choose Tomcat as application server. The database management system is MySQL. In the system analysis and design, we use UML modeling language and choose Netbeans UML plug-ins as modeling tool. We also use JMUnit to complete unit testing.This topic has developed a user-friendly, simple operation and perfect function travel services reservation system.It can allow tourists to query the information of travel service, hotels, restaurants, transportation and other resources. It facilitate them to choose and booking their appropriate tourism services.
