LED backlight as a new technology has just sprung up in the international and domestic market. Firstly, this paper started with the most mainstream of edge-lit LED backlight at present. Researching such backlight design methods so as to utmost integrate with mainstream market and meet the demands of market. Meanwhile, it can help out the existing situation that this new technology and materials all depend on imports. Combining with the demands on the power, LED driving circuit is designed to achieve a stable constantly current for LED.The article illustrates the development trend of LCD TV backlight and the development status of LED backlight at home and abroad. It discusses the technology of LED backlight prior to the technology of CCFL backlight. The paper also explains the constitution of edge-lit type LED backlight modules and design methods of light guide plate network with the subject of optical, thermal, electrical and other theories necessary. In addition, this article's research on the design of edge-lit LED backlight is not remain in the theory of pure academic research, but focus on the design of actual product.Through the use of constant current driving IC OZ9986 of 02 company to realize constant current and establish driven model of LED backlight. It explores the problems and key technologies needed to be resolved in the process of research and development of edge-lit LED backlight driving circuit, making exploratory and experimental contributions to the research of ultra-thin edge-lit LED backlight of the LCD TV. It represents the combination of the power circuit and driving circuit. In practical work, I have achieved the design of power supply driving circuit on the 26-inch edge-lit LED backlight of the LCD TV.The Thesis illustrates that, by researching and analyzing influence factors of edge-lit LED backlight combined with optical design on the LCD screen, optical diaphragm and temperature, it has realized the foundation of 26-inch edge-lit LED backlight LCD TV. The results proved LED-LCD TV take advantages on good uniformity, low power consumption, ultra-thin etc, by testing of EMC, accelerated aging, optical an so on. It shows that the derivation of theory in this paper and the process of building the prototype have laid foundation for further study and generalization of he Large Size LED edge-lit backlight.
