Higher requirements for the design of power and driver for edge-lit mode LED backlight of large LCD TV have been put forward because the edge-lit mode LED backlight LCD TV is getting more and more popular among consumers.First of all, this paper introduced background, current status at home and abroad and the basic theories related to this subject. Then the design of power and driver for edge-lit mode LED backlight of LCD TV was mainly researched and realized .Finally hardware implementation and performance tests based on the themes of"energy-saving"and"low cost"were realized. The related innovations are as follows:With regard to the design of"energy-saving": ultra-low whole machine power consumption was realized when global dynamic LED backlight dimming was used to reduce the average power consumption of the 55-inch LCD TV from 120W to 90W; ultra-low standby power consumption was realized when standby level conversion technology was used to reduced the standby power consumption of LCD TV from 1W to 0.5W; ultra LED drive efficiency was realized when AC - DC power management chips based on PFM was used to LED drive circuit to improve the efficiency of LED drive circuit from 80%—85% to 90%; ultra power factor was realized when active power factor correction circuit of constant on-time boundary model was used to improve the power factor of system close to 1.With regard to the design of"low cost": the new LED LCD TV power architecture solutions of no-separate standby power supply circuit architecture was designed to reduce the system cost; the AC - DC power management chips based on PFM was used as LED drive chips, and the 8-pin chips used in this paper greatly reduced the system cost compared with the 14-pin chips of simple external circuit. The theoretical derivation and design implementation in this paper laid the foundation for further research and promotion of the"energy-saving"and"low-cost"design of power and driver for edge-lit mode LED backlight of large LCD TV. |
