In recent years, the Ultra-wideband(UWB),which reach ultra high transmission rate by using ultra wideband technology, is a focus in the field of wireless communication. The branches of UWB technology includes:UWB wireless communication system,UWB radar, and so on. The narrow pulse generator is the key part of UWB wireless communication system. Design of UWB pulse generator has been finished in this paper, and the main works are summarized in the following:1) The principles of UWB technology, the development of UWB pulse generator and the key technologies of UWB communication are introduced firstly.2) Combined withs the traditional generator which based on the avalanche-effect of transistor and the LC damp oscillation circuit, the new UWB pulse generator is designed. The generator produces the UWB pulse with higher amplitude and wave shape of one-order differential Gauss pulse. It can reduce power supply voltage by 20% (or increase the pulse amplitude by about 50%) and the pulse repetition frequency rate by 5 times, the waveform meet the demand of FCC better at the same time.3) The RC charging mode of the capacitor limits the pulse repetition frequency of the traditional UWB pulse generator which based on the avalanche effect of transistor. Designed the high repetition frequency pulse generator by using the capacitor which charged by avalanche-effect of transistor .The generator reduces the charging time and fraise the pulse repetition frequency. It costs less time for charging and increase the pulse repetition frequency rate that is ten times as quickly as the traditional ones used today.These two UWB pulse generators designed in this paper have no more requirements than the traditional one such as the cost, the power supply and so on, however they have better performance in the key parameter such as the amplitude ,repetition frequency rate and waveform. It is significant in both theory and engineering for this work to exploit some new approaches for the design of Ultra Wideband pulse generator.
