Many industries, companies and organizations have gradually realized computerized management of the business and information, with the expansion of the database applications and the changes of computer hardware environment, especially the rapid development of computer networks and data communications technology. According to their needs and their own hardware and software environment, organizations and companies build different nformation service and management systems, and only maintain data related to their own wvork. So as time passes and technology advances, the information systems built by different core technology look like many "information islands", each of which has different handling objects, operating methods and private client. Each department or company is a data source, ind each data source is independent, therefore, the information and organization between hem are not the same at all, which constitutes a large and complex heterogeneous data environment.According to the needs of work, we hope to obtain relevant data from residence, health care, social security, bank and other various administrative departments and social organizations, for the author works in the public security department. The inconsistency of data structure, the inconsistency of database products and many other issues, lead to the nconsistency of the branches in the process of data integration and exchange. Therefore we oropose and develop the software, which can take advantage of the network to integrate data nformation on the various data platforms.In accordance with the needs of. the author's department, this system needs to be ichieved in the premise of rebuilding the database without handwork. Data in multiple data olatforms will be automated into a unified database platform, and you can complete the operation through the network, ensure that data is not lost after integration and kept its original integrity.The system is aimed at users of the Criminal Investigation Brigade of the DBA which has the relevant database professional knowledge, and is very familiar with SQL, and masters the original data platform information.In this paper, object-oriented analysis is the main system modeling method, and UML [Unified Modeling Language) is a modeling language.In the paper, our main work is as follows:1. We describe the research background of this paper, analysis the research situation of the heterogeneous database system integration technology at home and abroad, and we make the classification on the heterogeneous database system integration technology aiming at the present research, and we determine the design program of this article to be taken after analysis.2. We put forward an overall framework of the heterogeneous data platform. Through the system description, role definitions and system use case diagram we analysis the needs of the heterogeneous data platform, identify four modules of the platform:the information of the new purpose database, the information of the new source database, the information of the new destination table and the input data of the destination table.3. We use the SWT/JFace class library to carry out the interface of the system, the input modules are completed in the desktop window, click the relevant button to complete the appropriate functions. We provide the pseudo-codes of any module.4. We propose the test plan of the system, including test items, test points, test content and functional test content. In the test design we proposed the test coverage, test coverage design and test caseThe system can provide a friendly user interface that can reduce the operator's work as much as possible. The system should have good scalability, you can easily add other database system applications. The design of platform has some advance and flexibility to be able to adapt to changes in production configuration. This project can practice the team and improve the team's capabilities on a project's development and management.The system can not only manage the local database information, but also operate a remote database through the network, and the system is very sensitive to the network bandwidth, if the speed is not quick enough, it may cause the delay of the remote data transmission and the system suspended animation without response and so on.
