From the scope of the world, as the second generation GSM network mobile data network systems have been widely used. But with the development of mobile communication technology and continuous diversification of business, people are growing demand for data services. In order to satisfy the demand for mobile data services, mainly to support voice services of the second generation mobile data network system, gradually changing model of the network. Introduction of GPRS technology for mobile data service application opens a new door, in order to achieve a fusion of mobile communication and data network, and through constant evolution, formed the current GSM network structure as a whole. But with the rising demand for mobile data services, GRPS technical deficiencies in traffic data on the business application become more prominent.EDGE is a data-enhanced mobile communication technology based on GSM/GPRS network, and was often called 2.75-generation technology. After introduced in 3G network, GSM/EDGE and 3G the network long-term coexistence and interworking, in depth coverage is not enough 3G network or as a complement to coverage or capacity where capacity is insufficient, for end users to provide a strong protection.Since 2007, Changchun Mobile began to construct on the EDGE network, it has completed a full coverage in the urban area, through 3 years of constriction's network optimization of data, to promote the capacity of different data of the business carrying, and to improve the quality of the data network. But during constantly in the process of building and optimizing, the traditional GRPS optimization has been unable to apply to the EDGE of the network changes, in order to increase system capacity, improve the PDCH (Packet data channel) assignment success rate, urgent need for EDGE network optimization ways and means of exploration and research, made a full optimization, improve the system of utilization of network resources to enhance the overall quality of the network.This paper is based on my mobile network optimization Center in Changchun after 3 years of work and completion of the study. During this period, it is the stage of building, optimizing and upgrading of EDGE network, through my work together with the factory project, forming the current EDGE network optimization assessment system, the paper's main research work on the following aspects:1, This times optimization of range is entire changchunshiqu of wireless EDGE network, involved of MFS has 10 a, BSC has 66 a, from full network of angle for daily of optimization analysis, and on urban of all of main road and important of places for data of DT and CQT test, and by on index of observation and analysis to solution network in the exists of various problem, guarantee EDGE network overall performance.2, various special optimizing, enhance the overall performance of the data network. Through the various features turned on EDGE networks network effects, solving various problems in the network.3, to carry out research on the evaluation method of network resources, because of the larger EDGE network data traffic, high network load, adjusted frequently, through the study of resource assessment methods, find more fast and accurate assessment, make full use of network resources.
