Mobile communications and broadband technology has brought unprecedented opportunities and challenges to the entire telecommunications industry. The issues about how to adapt to the next generation network, as well as the development of a more colorful business applications, thereby creating a sustainable profitable business model, have become telecom operators'key concerns. With the rapid changing of the market demand, the TDM-based switch mode of mobile communication network has been unable to meet the requirements of broadband, and intelligent business, for the core layer of the network, what we need urgently is the an advanced architecture, then Mobile Softswitch emerged, and gradually become the mainstream technology. With the Mobile Softswitch technology has been introduced to more and more global mainstream operators, a new round evolution of the core network has entered a substantive stage.Firstly, the thesis introduce softswitch technology's basic design idea, characteristics, significance, network protocol and the hierarchy of the network, secondly, the CDMA network structure, the existing core network entity as well as the evolution strategy of 3GPP2 for CDMA2000 core network are analysised. Thirdly, four stages of the CDMA2000 core network domain which evolute from a traditional supporting network to all IP network are illustrated, and each stages'various characteristics are analysised. Combined with current status of Hunan Telecom's network, the authors proposed the solutions and advises of Hunan Telecom's CDMA2000 softswitch core network building program, the one step LMSD stage network structure, that is, the new core network domain circuit MSCe and MGW. Traditional MSC network evolute to MSCe and MGW, MSCe provide call control and mobility management capabilities, MGW provide media control functions, and provide transfer of resources, capable of manipulating media streams. Early CDMA2000 softswitch core network and the original CDMA TDM core network would co-exist in the first few years and gradually softswitch core network will totally replace the original TDM core network.
