High-voltage cabinet is a kind of important electrical equipments in power system. Inside the cabinet the connecting joints and contacts are easy to occur local overheat phenomenon. If not diagnosis and troubleshoot in time, the insulation will encounter severe damage, what's more, it can eventually affect the stability and security of power system. So it is necessary to monitor the temperature of the contacts of high-voltage cabinet that can find out the hidden dangers in time and make a deal with it.Aiming at the up background, a new on-line monitoring system based on infrared temperature sensor and wireless data transmission module is developed in this paper with advanced technology. Fistly this paper compares the existing power system temperature measurement ways. Then decides to use infrared temperature sensor to measure temperature which can well adapt the high voltage power equipment temperature on-line monitoring system with the state of long-distance, non-contact and rapid. This paper also uses wireless data transmission module to transmit data.With the state of not routing, low cost and other characteristic, it also brings convenient to the system. Secondly presents the whole framework and shows a brief explanation for each part, what'more, chooses the right components to design the hardware system. After that presents the system communications protocol and designs the software.Then the monitoring platform is produced based on Visual Basic6.0, the method of sensor installation and debugging is also introduced too. Finally, this paper makes the experimental simulation, by the experiment results analysis we can see this system has a good expected effect, it can detect the security risks and improve the safety and reliability of the high-voltage cabinet.
