Wireless sensor network is composed of a large number of sensor nodes which are low cost, low energy consumption, small volume and have certain ability of computing and networking. The sensor node generally rely on battery power which is limited, and the application environment of sensor network is generally very harsh which is certain difficult for artificial battery replacement. For this reason, energy efficiency became the emphasis of wireless sensor network research. As the basis of the network operation, networking protocol is one of the key technology of wireless sensor network.Energy efficiency is one of the standards to measure a networking protocol and the research on the energy-efficient networking protocol of wireless sensor network has obtained a certain achievement at home and abroad, mainly including energy-saving MAC protocols and energy-saving routing protocol. Communication module is the main energy consumption part of wireless sensor network, and the related protocol is mainly MAC protocol and routing protocol.In order to design a energy-efficient networking protocol, this paper starts from two layers of protocol to research on energy agreement of wireless sensor network.Firstly, made a preliminary understanding to the study status of Wireless sensor network, analyzing theoretically to the existing energy-saving MAC protocols and energy-saving routing protocols and summarizing the merit and demerit, scope of application of the protocals.Secondly, understanding the ideology of cross layer optimization design, analyzing its contribution to the wireless sensor network research, the advantages of relative layering design, and its application in wireless sensor network.The third, on the basis of theoretical analysis, integrating existing energy-saving agreement, adopting cross layer optimization design, designed a cross layer energy-saving agreement, combining the MAC layer and routing layer, and then analyzed the energy-saving effect.Finally, made the designed energy saving cross layer protocol (S-LEACH) in realization, and realize the agreement will TOSSM platform in the energy-saving simulation test and application of zigbex testing. Simulation results have shown that S-LEACH protocol is more power efficient than LEACH protocols.The application testing for the accuracy and the validity, proved the availability of protocol, to some extent.
