With the development of network technology, agent and multi-agent system have become a research hotspot. Because of its features of autonomy, intelligence and so on, agent provides a new approach to achieve system dynamic integration. However, it is significant for the development of the agent-based distributed system integration platform to study the communication mechanism among agents. Communication is the foundational and important way of negotiation and cooperation among agents. Agent communication is the key issue affecting the performance of MAS.This paper focuses on the multi-agent communication model for system integration. First, a complete research on and analysis of the multi-agent communication technology and KQML (Knowledge Query and Manipulation Language) are made. Then a XML-based platform-independent agent communication language definition is proposed, on which basis the design and implementation of agent-based communication architecture and message transmission service are presented. At the same time, combined with the data heterogeneous problems in system integration, an expanded heterogeneous data solution based on plug-in is proposed in the communication hierarchy and a data integration module is designed and implemented, including a data integration engine, a common data conversion plug-in and a data conversion rules editor.Finally, through the integration of experiment on an electronic information system, the results validate the functionality and performances of the multi-agent communication model proposed in this paper and verify the correctness and rationality of the heterogeneous solution in the agent communication.
