Research And Application Of Available Bandwidth Measurement Technologies In Mobile Internet

The rapid development of mobile Internet proposed new challenges to network measurement. Available bandwidth is an important indicator of network performance. How to effectively use the theory and methods of bandwidth measurement for wired network to mobile Internet environment has become a hot research.This article extensively discussed of the theories and measurement tools of bandwidth measurement, and focusing on how to achieve end to end available bandwidth measurement in mobile Internet environment, deeply studied and analysised of the models and algorithms of available bandwidth measurement. Based on the characteristics of mobile Internet, this paper proposed a new available bandwidth measurement algorithm MiBw which can be used in mobile Internet environment. Then, according to the algorithm realized the end to end available bandwidth measurement system. Finally,carried out function testing and performance analyzing for the measurement system in real environment, as well as verified the availability of the basic function of measurement system and the effectiveness of MiBw algorithm.
