In the area of electronic reconnaissance, how to realize real-time detection of broad bandwidth signal at low SNR is always a relative challenging task. Firstly, this thesis introduces the technical background and evaluation criteria of signal detection, and then systematically analyzes several ordinarily used signal detection or match receiving methods. Overall evaluations of these methods above are given, mainly focuses on their performance and efficiency.Furthermore, an algorithm based on auto-correlation for detecting LFM (Linear Frequency Modulation) pulse signal is developed, which is named'Shifted-N points-Correlation Algorithm (SNCA)., This thesis quantificationally analyzes this algorithm's accumulating effectiveness to signal and noise at first. Then, to systems of various parameters, a method of how to choose a proper N to make SNCA most suitable based on the Maximum SNR criterion is proposed. A contrast of detection performance between SNCA and the former methods is done in the end of this chapter. Finally, based on the theoretical foundations of PLL receiver and SNCA mentioned above, a dual-mode wideband/narrowband electronic reconnaissance receiver is designed and realized. The block diagram of this system and performance criteria are firstly given. Then the modulation/demodulation principle of single channel mono pulse receiver is introduced. The design method of this receiver is the content of emphasis. Eventually, the real testing data of the whole system is given.
