As a new generation media for disseminating information, LED displayer has developed rapidly since its inception at 80's. LED video displayer, with the core of advanced video displaying technology, is able to play all kinds of graphic information synchronously. Therefore it is widely used as the standard window in the industry of finance, telecommunications and power, and advertising, publicity, sports stadiums and other public places. It's application prospect is broad.FPGA technology is an emerging technology, which has static re-programming property. The chips contain abundant resources, then huge, meeting a variety of needs, complex and digital electronic circuits and even the high-performance microprocessor can be integrated into one chip to achieve a system-on-chip (SOC). It makes the cycle of system development shorter and more reliable.A design method of FPGA-based LED video displayer control system is presented in this paper. The system is able to collect data from a DVI interface and display them on a large LED screen synchronously. The whole system design of hardware and software is described in this thesis. Key technologies for the design, including data collection, data reorganization, storage, and method of 256 gray scale display are carried out a detailed analysis. This paper researches data acquisition from DVI and scan driver for LED displaying based on FPGA. The main tasks are as follows:1. Design a FPGA-based module for video data acquisition, reorganization and slice storing.2. Carry out a detailed analysis of scan sequence of LED video displaying. A possible process of scanning control is carried out. A analysis of how to optimize processing is carried out too.3. Complete the processing of video stream data. Carry out a method of pipeline controlling based on ping-pong operation for the design of the storage controller.4. Complete the choice of devices and Index Analysis focus on the system requirements.
