Analysis And Evaluation On The SharePoint-Based Knowledge Management System For Software Development Team

The software development team is a typical knowledge-intensive organization which takes the IT technology as the major technological measure. The core business flow of the team is the software development process, it contains various knowledge management activities, such as knowledge collection, sharing, application, transformation, integration, innovation and so on. The scientific and effective management was carried on to knowledge management activities of the software development process, this can enhance the efficiency of the software development, reduce the cost of the development, meet the greatest need of customers. However, studies indicated that the knowledge management of software development teams generally have some problems at present, such as lacking a unified platform to concentrated store and manage the knowledge of the team which causes the knowledge to drain along with the flowing of person, and lacking a effective platform to make team members have exchanging and sharing of the recessive knowledge of development experience and attainment experience which causes the massive experience not to be precipitated on the level of the team. How to solve these knowledge management problems effectively is an important and realistic question which worth to study to the software development teams.Based on the reference to the related research results at home and abroad, and making the comprehensive of the theory knowledge of many subjects such as the computer science, the management science, the information science, statistics, the extension theory and so on. This paper used the method of the questionnaire survey to analyze the problems of the knowledge management of the software development teams, and used the SharePoint technology of Microsoft to construct a knowledge management system of the software development teams, and used the extension assessment method to establish a extension assessment element model of the knowledge management system, and used the method of experiment to analyze the validity of the knowledge management system.Firstly, knowledge management problems solving ways of software development team was proposed. The necessity and feasibility of implementing knowledge management of software development team was analyzed. The paper used the method of questionnaire survey to carry on the investigation to the present situation of knowledge management of software development team, and made qualitative analysis of the problems of knowledge management of software development team through the statistics of survey data. According to the characteristics of the problems, the paper proposed solving ways, these problems can be solved by construction of knowledge management system.Secondly, according to knowledge management problems solving ways of software development team, the knowledge management system which has the function such as knowledge base, privilege management, knowledge retrieval, individual work area, forum, dynamic information issue, and workflow was constructed. Microsoft SharePoint technology was chose to construct knowledge management system. It provides core technology such as the powerful content management, the strengthen documents management and workflow to meet the needs of knowledge management. The system which constructed through SharePoint technology can help the team realize the storage, use, retrieval, sharing of knowledge. It provides a kind of new mentality and way to solve the problems of knowledge management of software development team.Finally, the paper has used the method of experiment to analyze the validity of the knowledge management system. A set of assessment index system of knowledge management system which had multistage index was designed. A extension assessment element model of the knowledge management system was established. The validity experiment of knowledge management system was implemented. And the experimental results show that the system is effective at the aspects of solving the knowledge management problems, promoting knowledge management implementation successful, and improving software development efficiency.Conclusion:the main problems of knowledge management of software development team lie in that the knowledge of team lacks the unification platform to carry on management centralism and effective, the recessive knowledge lacks dominant change which causes the recessive knowledge to accumulate into organization's knowledge with difficulty, and the knowledge has bad reusability which causes the team to do the massive repeatability work. Therefore, knowledge management system which can help the memory, transformation, applying, sharing, and innovation of knowledge must be established to solve these problems. The solving ways of knowledge management of software development team has reference value to the scholar to do research on software industry knowledge management. The knowledge management system can help software development team implement knowledge management.
