It is a subject deserving long-term attention and researches in higher education institutions that how to effectively make full use of roles of Students' Evaluating on Classroom Teaching (SECT) data in decision support for teaching management. The simple application of SECT data impedes the discovery of useful information behind such data and can't play an effective part in decision support. On the basis of induction and summary regarding the basic theories like data warehouse, OLAP analysis and data mining skills, this paper presents an analysis model for SECT data, showing the comprehensive analysis and in-depth dissection with regard to SECT data. This paper mainly covers:(1) Data warehouse theory is applied to establish SECT data warehouse, including data warehouse design, and extraction, conversion and loading of such data.(2) On the basis of actual demand, the analysis architecture is designed for SECT data, and the integrated enquiry and multi-dimensional analysis concerning SECT data are materialized.(3) The paper designs a mining analysis framework of SECT data. In the process, by studying the inadequacy of the decision tree classification algorithm ID3, we improved the efficiency of the algorithm through data reduction and database technology elevation, and enhanced the expansibility of algorithm, and thereby upgraded the performance of data mining in the SECT decision supporting system.(4) In accordance with the system design proposal, based on the research and study on relative technology and platform, we materialized a decision supporting system for SECT. And focusing on the data analysis and mining of SECT database of Anhui Business College of Vocational Technology, we test the system. The results prove that by using this system, a decision tree classification model can be established which propels a fuller and deeper understanding and acknowledging of the SECT data for Teaching Management Department, changes an outdated simple application mode of SECT data usage, and provides support for the decision-making in the Teaching Quality Improvement process of our college.
