The application of computer and information technology in the catering has greatly improved the efficiency of management and operation of the catering industry, creating performance several times higher than the traditional management model with limited human resources. The rapid development of embedded technology makes the design of hand-hold terminal for electronic menu become easy and reliable.This thesis lays stress on a discussion and research of some key technologies of the hand-hold terminal for electronic menu, using ARM9 processor and embedded RTOSμC/OS-II, withμC/GUI and Zigbee wireless networking technology to realize the design of hand-hold terminal for electronic menu.Several subjects were studied in this thesis: An ARM9-based embedded platform was built. The transplant ofμC/OS-II was analyzed and completed successfully. The software organizational structure ofμC/GUI was analyzed, andμC/GUI was transplanted onμC/OS-II according to the requirement. The system interface was developed by usingμC/GUI. A communication protocol was designed, and wireless networking communication based on Zigbee was achieved.A hand-hold terminal for electronic menu was completed in this thesis. The system runs well. That proves that the desired goal has been achieved successfully, and it appears a brand application area in catering industry.
