With the rapid development of computer and network technology, the informatization level of the manufacturing has been quickly improved, more and more enterprises begin to use the production management system to improve their production management level. Meanwhile, the variability of the market environment puts forward higher requirements for the flexibility of the production organization activities. As the realization of the internal business processes and rules, how the production management system to respond to quickly the changes of all kinds of production conditions has become an important issue in the field of informatization.Taking the production management of a gear reducer enterprise as background, this paper studies how to rapidly reconfigure a production management system under the single piece and small batch production mode to develop a production management system under the mass and serial production mode. On the basis of summing up the development status of the production management system and its reconfiguration technology at home and abroad, a detailed analysis is made on the characteristics of the discrete manufacturing and two kinds of production modes, the reconfiguration of the production management system is implemented by component-based software reuse idea, and the unified modeling language UML is used to describe and analysis the production business process and the software development process. Through the analysis of the actual production business process of two kinds of production modes in the enterprises, the feasibility of reconfiguration is demonstrated, and then the technical route of reconfiguration is confirmed. According to the research and requirement analysis, the target system's information model and functional component model are established, and then the reconfiguration of the material code system is completed with the actual production business process. Based on the changes of the business process, the reconfiguration analysis is conducted for the database model and program realization of the product's based data management subsystem's functional components, and the reconfiguration result is given. At last, the efficiency of the reconfiguration is quantized. This paper takes VB.NET and SQL Server2000 as the tool to realize the reconfiguration of the production management system.At present, the reconfiguration has been completed, and the wind power production management system developed by reconfiguration has been implemented successfully in the enterprise and got through acceptance of the enterprise. The application shows that this study is feasible, and has certain theoretic value and practical meaning for the reconfiguration of the production management system.
