Reflector antenna is an important antenna and is applied widely in radar. At the same time, since it is a kind of high-gain antennas reflector antenna is also applied widely in long-distance communication fields. With the growth in demand of radar's functions, people make a lot of new demands in the antenna's beam shape, such as cosecant square beam. This requires the antenna design theory and the performance of the feed are continuously improved. Therefore, the research of shaped-beam is very significant. The design of doubly curved reflector antenna, the design of the feed in the specific conditions and the shaped-beam technology are researehed in this paper.According to the requirment of a certain radar system, analysing the strict demands because of the special application environment, the antenna system is designed.Firstly, the conception of reflective antenna and its analysis are introduced. Then, the related theories and computational methods of the offset feed paraboloidal reflector antenna and also the selection, which concerns about the direction and location of the best feedback source are researched. This lays the foundation for designing the doubly curved shaped-beam reflector antenna. According to the parameters and the specific applied environment in project, the feed is designed. From the basic analysis of aperture antenna, through comparing different performances of these horn antennas in the working environment, the modern electromagnetic simulation software CST is used to design the feed with a particular shape to meet the designing requirements. At last, based on the computational theory of shaped-beam doubly curved reflector antenna and the designing requirements, the computational formulas are conducted in all details and the computing software diagram is designed. In MATLAB environment, the shape of the reflector is calculated. The design results are acquired and emulated by Microwave Studio and MATLAB. The result shows the design successfully achieves the beamforming technology of doubly curved reflector antenna in the working environment.
