With fast development of modern telecommunication technology, information security technique is becoming more and more perfect. As a new information safety transmission method, information hiding has become a hot research topic in recent years. Because Turbo code can still achieve small bit error rate at low SNR which is close to the Shannon capacity limits, it has become one of channel coding schemes in 3G. This thesis mainly does research about information hiding in BMP image based on Turbo code. The main contents include:1. It introduces some interrelated knowledge of information security, then discusses information hiding and its application in the field of information security, and lastly introduces the background and application of Turbo code.2. It introduces the principle of Turbo encoder and decoder, and mainly analyses the MAP decoding arithmetic by simulating expexperiments, and lastly analyses the performance of Turbo codes.3. It introduces the classification and basic properties of information hiding technology, then does compare with encryption and digital watermarking, and lastly, it introduces the application of human vision properties in the field of information hiding.4. It introduces the system software of achieving information hiding of BMP image based on Turbo code, and then it discusses implementation principle,the design and implementation of the information hiding software, as well as the analysis of hiding effect in detail. And then in order to analyse the hiding effect more comprehensively, it gets the error rate of the hidden image,histogram and PSNR by doing simulation, lastly, it tests the robustness of the information hiding system software.
