| There are many technological advantages and a good application prospect for the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)technology. And this technology is entering all areas of social life gradually. The Ultra-High Frequency (UHF) RFID technology is becoming a hot research spot in many countries and companies because of its long distance identification capacity and the large storage capacity of the labels. This thesis focuses on the basic structure, the communication standards, the modulation and demodulation principles and the transmitting and receiving mode of the RF signals of the UHF RFID system. And the thesis proposed a designing architecture of the RFID reader. For the hardware designing, a DSP chip composed the controlling core of the reader, the core is used for the controlling of the signal encoding, decoding, the liquid crystal display and the serial communication and so on. At the same time,FLASH and SRAM memories were expanded for the DSP to facilitate the program and data storing. The ASK modulation was used for the RF signal transmitting, and a zero-IF receiver was used in the receiver circuit. In the baseband signal processing circuit, a low-pass filter, an analog multiplier, a voltage comparator and a sample circuit were used to achieve the A/D conversion. In addition, the ADS software was used in the transient simulation for the RF circuit, and experimental results and analysis were provided in the thesis.A test platform was build with CCS2000 and XDS-510USB emulator for the programming and debugging. The designing idea of the reader is clear, easy to implement, and has a certain value of reference and application. |
