The Research On Algorithm Of Fingerprint Image Segmentation

Automatic fingerprint identification technique is a research focus of pattern recognition. Many researchers have done much work on fingerprint identification technique, but there still have some difficulties. The fingerprint image preprocessing is the start step of fingerprint identification process. The effect of preprocessing affects directly the effect of follow-up steps. Fingerprint segmentation is an important step in fingerprint image preprocessing. An efficient fingerprint segmentation algorithm could help reducing the fingerprint image preprocessing time, improving the performance of automatic fingerprint identification system.In this paper, we deeply research and analyze the theory and technology of fingerprint image segmentations, the main researches are in the following aspects:(1)This paper gives based block Gabor filter fingerprint image segmentation and based Gabor filter fingerprint image segmentation algorithm of classification.(2)A combination algorithm of gray value and Gabor features is proposed, and the results of experiment prove this algorithm could correctly segment the fingerprint image.(3)Use the way of same contrast to evaluate the effectiveness of the fingerprint segmentation. It shows that the combination of fingerprint image segmentation has good results through the evaluative experiment.
