For the experimental teaching in colleges and universities to use more physical motion control object model has many disadvantages and the products design of motion control object in industrial production exists many shortcomings, this paper presents a virtual prototype system based on motion control of hardware and software combination.The system consists of controller hardware platform, virtual prototyping hardware platform and PC. Virtual prototyping hardware platform receives control signal from controller hardware platform, and immediately passes to PC, PC receives the control signal from the virtual prototype hardware platform and operates the virtual prototype simulation algorithm,producing the response of the object to create a virtual prototype parameter display and setting interface and immediately form the animated images and real-time and historical trend curves of the virtual prototype. PC passes the response of the object to the virtual prototype hardware platform. If the closed loop control is conducted, virtual prototype hardware platform will feedback the part of the response to the controller hardware platform. Virtual prototype hardware platform communicates with controller via RS-485 serial bus. Controller hardware platform receives feedback signal from the virtual prototype hardware platform, collects the various parameters of the controller, runs the control algorithm to form a control volume, and sends the control volume to the virtual prototype hardware platform. In order to display the parameters on PC, controller hardware platforms and PC is via RS-485 serial bus to realize the communication.The system has an intuitive show, easy parameter changes, versatility and many other advantages. Therefore, using this system to carry on the debugging has important theory significance.It can deepen understanding to the motion control object, explore the good modeling method, seek the appropriate computer control algorithm and so on. Simultaneously,it has the important use value to information profession of the university especially in comprehensive nature, innovative, the developmental experiment as well as the control engineering practice for automation. It has also an important significance for promoting the quality of the experiment teaching and reducing the debug time of the control engineenng.
