A Study On The Motive Force Of Marx And Engels' Social Development

About the research of the thoughts about the power of social development has been concerned by the philosophers in the past. However, due to the low lever of productivity and the shallow awareness of the human beings, there are inevitably significant limitations and narrowness. On the basis of inheritting the traditional thoughts about the power of social developmengt critically, through the long-term theoretical research and practical exploration, Marx and Engels created the scientific theory about the power of social development, thus solved the mystery of history which confused hunman beings for thousands of years, realized the great revolution in the history of the thoughts about the power of social development, and there are great significance for human beings to understand the world and transform the world. Based on the deep analysis on the study of the classics of Marx and Engels, combined with domestic and foreign research and China’s socialist modernization construction practice, I have elaborated Marx and Engels thoughts about the power of social development systemtically from the following three parts.In the first part, I have traced the thoughts about the power of social development back to the history. I have investigated the western traditional thoughts about the power of social development from the ancient Greek natural dynamic theory, the medieval theological dynamic theory, the theory of human motivation since the Renaissance, the German classical philosophy’s theory of rational power. On this basis,I have demonstrated the formation of Marx and Engels thoughts about the power of social development comprehensively from its infancy stage, exploration stage,forming stage and perfect stage.In the second part, I have stated the main contents and characteristics of Marx and Engels thoughts about the power of social development. Social basic contradiction, class struggle and social revolution, science and technology, the masses of the people, historical resultant force, together constitute the main contents of Marx and Engels thoughts about the power of social development. The unity of the integrity and hierarchy,the unity of subjectivity and objectivity, the unity of generality and specificity, the unity of truth and value, the unity of theory and practice are the characteristics of Marx and Engels thoughts about the power of social development.In the third part, I have stated the value implication of Marx and Engels thoughtsabout the power of social development from the theoretical value and practical enlightenment. Its theoretical value is mainly reflected in the influence on the exploration of China and western countries since 20 th century. I have demonstrated the practical implications of Marx and Engels thoughts about the power of social development from developing productivity vigorously, deepening the reform comprehensively, adhere to the people-oriented, constructing the core value system of socialism.
