With the rapid development of Internet technology and mobile communication device, social rhythm is getting faster and faster, and the educational resources are gradually diversified among which the demand of individual learning is increasing, especially the carrying out of “micro” learning in educational field just like the sun in broad daylight. As one of the main forms of micro learning, micro class is popular with more and more researchers and learners as a result of its short and snappy. Micro class is short for micro curriculum. Taking micro teaching video as its main carrier to cope with one certain important knowledge, micro class creates contextual learning environment and supports various learning styles. Up to now, the research about micro class in China is gradually transiting from its theory stage of concept property to its practical application stage of design and exploitation. The design and production achievements of micro class are not so many.In Teaching Chinese as A Foreign Language Education field, studying character is an obstacle which exists for a long time and puzzles teachers and overseas students. Chinese system which is different from western alphabetic system expresses the concept of objects by visual sign directly and its form and structure contain a lot of cultural information. Traditional character teaching neglects the cultural function of Chinese character which gives rise to the situation of the overseas students being good at “listening and speaking” instead of “reading and writing”. There are not a few researchers have supported to combining the culture and application of Chinese character together, using which into Chinese character teaching to the foreigners. The correlational research stays at the exploration of theory level and the research case of teaching practice is rarely.The author tries to develop micro class about the evolution of Chinese character in the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language, and conduct the Chinese character teaching to the foreigners design from the perspective of Etymology and present course content by form of micro video. By investigating the demand of overseas students for studying Chinese character resources, this thesis exploits micro class which is suitable for overseas students whose Chinese level is middle and high ranking by means of literature research method, content analysis method, questionnaire method and interviewing method. In addition, this thesis intends to analyze elements, models and design principle of micro class, and explores the creation method of micro class. Firstly, it can afford practical cases for literate teaching of Etymology and enrich resource pool of learning Chinese as a foreign language. Secondly, it can also enrich the design and production theory of micro class.
