Chinese - English Translation Practice Report Of The Constitution Of Heilongjiang University

The Statutes of the university are the basic norms of the lawful autonomy of the University, implementing administration and performing public functions. Researches into translation of the Statutes of the university benefit academic exchanges between Chinese and foreign universities and international cooperation in running schools. This thesis selects The Statutes of Heilongjiang University as the translated text, makes a summary on the problems in the process of translation and finally forms a translation report. In order to ensure integrity, accuracy and rigor, the original text adopts coordinate structures and additional elements, such as serial verb construction, attributes and adverbials. The author makes case analyses, elaborating skills of English translation of Chinese serial verb construction and adjustment of sentence order of Chinese attributes and adverbials and providing reference for the scholars and translators who will study translation of the Statutes of the university in the future.
