On Prokofiev 's Second Violin Sonata In D Major

With Sergei Prokofiev’s Violin Sonata No.2 in D Major, Op. 94a as subject of study, this paper tries to illustrate how to prepare to brilliantly realize a music work: learn about the composer and the historical context of the music work, and thoroughly analyze the playing techniques of the music for the musical instrument.At first this paper point out that, in order to brilliantly recreate a music work on stage, the performer should have three levers of abilities. The necessary skills and knowledge of general musical works is the basic ability. Then the performer should know how to express the imaginary of the music works. Finally the performer should know how to grasp the spirit of the music works.Furtherly, this paper introduces the composer Prokofiev and the violinist Oistrakh related to Violin Sonata No.2 in D Major, Op. 94a, which is adapted from Flute Sonata in D Major, Op.94.Based on the introduction of creation background of Violin Sonata No.2 in D Major, Op. 94a, this paper thoroughly analyzes this music works from two viewpoints: the difference between flute version and violin version, and the characters of the playing techniques for this music works. Continually, this paper describes the musical characters of this music works: the features of musical forms, the specialty of creation techniques, and the comparison with musical styles of other periods. Thus this paper complete the overview of the violin sonata.
