Sergei Prokofiev’s Sonata for Second Violin and Piano Sonata in D Major is adapted from his Flute Sonata. As the representative work of Prokofiev’s late style, it conveys an impression of elegance. This paper focuses on the first movement of this work. First, musical structure, mode and tonality are analyzed by the traditional methods of music analysis, and the particularities of musical theme, musical language of this work are analyzed to explore his inheritance and innovation in musical language. Second, this paper attempts to understand the creation intention of the composer and the emotions he meant to express through analyzing the strength sign on the music score as well as the relationship between long triplet and music processing. Last, an otherness study on performer’s performance version is conducted to help performers better understand and play the work. |
