Sergei Prokofiev wrote his last violin work in 1947,work number 115.This work is different from Prokofiev’s other works, because it has the dual functions of solo and ensemble Sonata, and is the least performed or recorded work in Prokofiev’s violin repertoire. At the same time, this work is also a model of Prokofiev’s late creative style, which pursues a more direct and simple music language.Sonata provides a great sense of music satisfaction and it can clearly reflect Prokofiev’s later creative style in form, melody and style.Melody and lyric become the most important aspects of his music. As the only Unaccompanied Violin Sonata in the composer’s life, this work is not so well known compared with the other two composers’ Piano and Violin Sonatas Op.80 and Op.94.However,this exquisite unaccompanied Sonata reflects the composer’s deep understanding of violin playing techniques. The technique is very prominent, and the melody trend has its own characteristics It is a typical Russian dance style, and has the composer’s creative style. It is a fine violin chamber music with distinctive Prokofiev’s creative style. This paper will give a brief introduction to the composer Prokofiev’s life and creative background, focusing on the music analysis of "Sonata for solo Violin Op.115 in D major",such as the musical structure and the Violin skills used in performance, and some suggestions on the professional angle of the violin itself.Achieve the unity of work structure, music style and performance skills,to help violinists and music lovers better play and more understanding of this Sonata.
