In the beginning, this paper discusses "Avant-Grade"and its extension as well as Hsu Yu’s pioneering origins. After a long process,"Avant-Grade" achieves a major shift, from a military term to a literary term. Owing to its dynamic avant-grade and experimental nature, we should not use avant-grade literature to define some school and someone’s work in a fixed period.
