The history of the dramatic art has been more than 2500 years. In the long historical river, the dramas had much more developments and changes in the different period. The thought of the creators of drama which exceed the age and their play stage exploration made these developments and changes. Dramas history is included in the hand down tradition and the exploration development history. The drama in Chinese hundred years history is also the same.The Chinese avant-garde dramas step into the historical arena with against traditional flag and the slogan in the eighties of the twentieth century. Its emergence not only changed the Chinese dramas original pattern, but also brought the fresh audition for the audience to enjoy. It has enriched Chinese drama stage greatly. The development have already experienced for 30 years from its appearance. This drama stage has filled with the funny and commercial breath scene in the new century. In the new century, Chinese drama stage was multi-colored and the youth directors emerged one after another incessantly. At the same time, the main body of the drama lost and the thought connotation was deficient. Many directors made the false cutting edge's creation with the avant-garde banner.This thesis take ponder and explore the development of avant-garde drama as a goal. Then do the objective research to the Chinese avant-garde drama. This thesis contains five parts. Firstly, the author makes the comprehensive introduction to the avant-garde drama in the new century.
