From the perspective of discourse analysis and historical research,this article attempts to restore and investigate the entire canonization process of contemporary Chinese avant-garde novels from creation,publication,naming,coronation,and entry into history.It will mainly involve literary journals,literary criticism,literary history and classics.Based on this research line of thinking,the thesis first starts by tracing the relationship between avant-garde novels and literary journals,and selects Shanghai,Beijing and other places that have had an influence on the publication of avant-garde novels from the mid to late 1980 s to the early 1990 s.The well-known journals in China take the publication of avant-garde novels in these journals and the literary events related to publication as the main research objects,to investigate the emergence of avant-garde novels and the situation at this stage when it began to become a creative trend.Secondly,the research will trace back to the literary criticism and related criticism activities around the avant-garde novels in the long period of time from the middle and late 1980 s to the 1990 s involving various critical articles,literary anthologies,literary conferences,and literary activities represented by Rewriting Literary History,restoring the formation process of the name avant-garde novels,the process of constructing pure literary image of avant-garde novels and the process of several critical works promoted the entry of avant-garde novels into history.Under the combined effect of these various factors,literary criticism has gradually shaped the avant-garde novels as a classic.The last part of this article sorts out and analyzes the history of avant-garde novels in contemporary literary history works after the 1990 s,sorts out the formation process of the consensus that avant-garde novels are literary classics in the 1980 s,and finds that it is in the consensus.There are differences outside,and at the same time reflect canonization and canonization in these consensus and differences.Through this series of restorations and investigations,the thesis will deeply explore the profound changes in the historical context,literary concepts,and literary production mechanisms of the1980 s involved in the process of canonization of avant-garde novels in order to understand the 1980s more objective and comprehensively.
