Since the 21 stcentury, with the development of the social economy and the pursuit of the spiritual gratification, the sales of animation products is soaring and the growing market is demanded, it has gradually became a newly underestimated trend in the animation industry market. At the same time, the animation products as a recorder and disseminator of culture plays an important and positive role in the national culture promotion aspect.This article mainly explores the application and spread of Chinese traditional culture in the animation industry, starting with the connotation and development of animation products, combining with the connotation and characteristics of Chinese traditional culture. Also, compare and study the current situation of animation industry between home and abroad, and analysis the problem in the process of application and dissemination of Chinese traditional culture in the animation industry. At the same time, I put forward my own views on the solution strategy.In addition to the introduction and conclusion, this paper consists of 4 chapters. In the first chapter, I introduce the connotation and characteristic of the animation products, also the development course and the present situation of animation products. Besides, I find the success that animation products gained from the process of development is rooted in the soil of traditional culture, hence one can see that the relation between animation industry development and traditional culture is mutual promotion and win-win.The second and third chapter is the key part of the article.The third chapter makes the analysis of Chinese traditional culture spread in animation industry, expounds that the traditional culture that inheritated by animation industry is necessary and feasible, and also indicates that the spread of Chinese traditional culture in animation industry is in accordance with national policies and animation creation requirements, meanwhile, it conforms to the trend of the times.At last, combining with the case of the outstanding animation products at home and abroad, we analysis the application and spread of the Chinese traditional culture in our animation industry, and the difficulty we face. Although it has made great progress in terms of culture transmission, it still had many problems, mainly reflected in the lack of 3 aspects: the deep grasp of the audiences’ psychological mechanism, the originality of animation industry and the market-oriented industry chain. Meanwhile, we put forward strategic suggestions to promote better application of traditional culture that made in animation industry for 3 aspects. First, in the aspect of grasping audiences’ psychological mechanism and developing animation industry chain, the writer suggest that we should take into account both children and adult, with carrying out the road of “animation for all ages”, to meet all their needs in every link of the animation industry chain. Second, in the aspect of animation originality, with the absorption and utilization of traditional culture elements, we should make innovation and development with combining the characteristic of the times for traditional culture. Third, in the situation of cultural globalization, we should integrate and develop the traditional and foreign culture in the form and connotation, letting the Chinese animation industry go out of the country to won the world recognition of the audiences.
