| Animation industry as one of the most potential industries of the 21st century's creative industries has enormous development space and a good environment. In recent years, the United States, Japan, Korea and other countries' successful experience tells us that the domestic animation industry needs to fully reflect the rich Chinese traditional culture that can be long-term developed. Disney is the first entertainment empire in the world; it brought laughter all over the world as well as a significant amount of wealth accumulation for the United States. Over time, the focus of attention is not only limited to its enormous economic value and potential, but also in its succession of traditional culture and communication.With a 5000-year-long history and a population of 1.3 billion big country, China-made cartoon's healthy, orderly development will not only bring enormous economic benefits, but also will carry forward the traditional culture of our country to provide strong support. However, the domestic animation is limping. There are many factors for the domestic animation industry lag behind, but the most important one is the lack of the traditional cultural identity. The main purpose of this paper is through the analysis of other countries' history and current situation of animation industry, explore the important role of the traditional culture that played in the process of forming its cartoon industry's characteristics , and in accordance with China's specific circumstances in animation industry, combine with several animation-related works, on how to better use of our country rich in traditional cultural resources to promote the animation industry as soon as possible with its own distinctive method of characteristics.This article is divided into three major sections except the foreword. Chapter I introduces the concept and origin of the cartoon and animation industry, mainly focus on the history, present situation and successful experiences of animation developed countries and China, through the horizontal comparison of the distances between them, the author reach a conclusion that in order to make our animation industry develop and become strong, it must rooted in the Chinese traditional culture and absorb necessary nutrition that needed. Only in this way, can our animation industry to form a Chinese traditional culture as the core of the distinctive characteristics of animation industry.Chapter II describes the meaning of Chinese traditional culture, introduces its characteristics and secular values, mainly describes the mutual relation between animation industry and Chinese traditional culture as well as how to form our distinct features of animation industry and promote animation industry and traditional culture can benign interaction and common development in the way of absorb nutrition from Chinese traditional culture and combine with its own features.Chapter III is the core and stress of the whole article, the author not only detailed describes the necessary of combining between animation industry and Chinese traditional culture, but also takes the effects of American and Japanese traditional culture in their animation for example, combine with the changes that happened in Chinese animation, make a contrast with Mr. Cai Zhizhong's traditional comic.
