The number of words in modern Chinese is not too much, but the frequency of use is very high in the course of daily communication. Study of Chinese communicative level students and the tone of the word acquisition level are closely related, therefore, the use of modal words properly, has always been an important standard to evaluate the students’ Chinese level. The function is one of the important means of expression in Chinese grammatical meaning, tone of the word as a part of Chinese function words, its meaning is very dense, usage is more complex, which makes the modal words become the focus and difficulty in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. In this paper, from the body of the tone of the word to start, focus on "a, ba, ma, ne,de, le" six basic and typical modal particles, from the definition, classification of modal particles are studied, and the summarization of grammatical features. In this paper, using the survey questionnaire in the form of College of international culture and education of Heilongjiang University foreign students’ acquisition of modal particles, and widely collected material tone words in HSK dynamic composition corpus for error analysis, summarizes the types of errors, and then explore the causes of errors, and on this basis, try to put forward some effective teaching strategies of foreign words chinese.
