Achievement motivation is the most important internal driving force towards apersonal goal, emotional intelligence is the most important quality to determinewhether a person will get success in future, parental rearing patterns can influence thechildren’s achievement motivation and emotional intelligence in a certain degree.Parenting is all parents process in the education of their children and the parents givetheir children to create family atmosphere to convey to their children’s attitude set.For the students’ achievement motivation, parenting style, emotional intelligence are alot of research, however, special research on College Students’ achievementmotivation, parenting style, emotional intelligence have not. Yet found. colleges aredivided into two classes, the first class of college is a public university, admissionscores higher (a line), the second college is a private school, admission scores verylow (two line). The Authors have investigated of four Yunnan College (two a two atwo special) of800students, and then through the SPSS17.0to analysis the collecteddata, the results show that:1.College Students’ overall achievement motivation is still the pursuit of success,but the total score is not high. No significant differences in college students’achievement motivation in gender, significant differences in the science, the sciencestudents have higher motivation of pursuing success and achievement motivation. Aclass of college students pursuing success motivation and achievement motivationlevels were significantly higher than that of two college students, and two collegestudents than a class of college students tend to avoid failure.2.College students parental rearing patterns as excessive control. From the testresults for each factor of parenting style scores were significantly higher than thenational norm. Boys and girls between the parental rearing patterns the differenceswere not significant. College degree in science and engineering students with betterparenting style, performance for the mother’s emotional warmth father understandhigher, while the liberal arts college students have higher father’s preference level. Aspecial class of students in the mother and father emotional warmth and understanding,father’s preference score higher than two college students, two college students in thefather refused to deny, father’s overprotection score was significantly more than acollege student. 3.The emotional intelligence of College Students’ good. No significantdifferences between male and female students in total emotional intelligence, but theboys have higher emotional self assessment capability. Four aspects of science andengineering college students emotional intelligence is significantly higher than liberalarts college students. A special class of College Students’ emotional intelligence offour dimensions were significantly higher than that of two vocational college students.4, four dimensions of emotional intelligence are positively associated with thepursuit of success and achievement motivation, and motivation of avoiding failurecorrelation.There was a significant positive correlation with parental emotionalwarmth and understanding "mother’s emotional warmth and understanding" and"success" and "achievement motivation and avoiding failure","existence" insignificant negative correlation. Father’s preference have significant positivecorrelation with the total achievement motivation. His father refused to deny andavoid significantly correlated failure. Father’s warmth and understanding and mother’semotional warmth to understand and emotional intelligence dimensions weresignificantly positive correlation. Father’s punishment and emotional control ispositively related to the total emotional intelligence, but significant negativecorrelation. My father refused to deny self emotional assessment, use of emotion,emotional control, emotional intelligence significantly negative. Mother’s excessiveinterference and protection evaluation of self, others, emotional evaluation, emotionaluse emotional intelligence had significant positive correlation. The mother refused todeny that there is a significant negative correlation of emotional control. Mother’spunishment for self emotional evaluation, emotional application, emotional control,emotional intelligence has significant negative correlation. Mother’s favoritism isnegatively related to emotional self assessment.5.There is the mediating role of college students parental rearing styles ofparents’ emotional warmth and understanding and achievement motivation andemotional intelligence, understanding this dimension with parental emotional warmth,are good predictors of achievement motivation and emotional intelligence.Achievement motivation have direct or indirect effects on emotional intelligence,parental emotional warmth and understanding is the intermediary variable selfdevelopment of achievement motivation and emotional intelligence.
