Examplified by Strategies of the Warring, the ancient argumentation culture ofChina is endowed with artistic quality and purposeful political ehics. It bears adistinctive mark of the time and is a representative of the then Zeitgeist. This culturehas its unique debating objective, principles, techniques and numerous logical andmoral requirements. The cream of the thinking style it gives rise to has taken its rootin traditional Chinese culture and to a great extent domintes the thinking andexpression of ideas of Chinese. Hence, the paper attempts to sort out the categoriesand features of argumentation in Strategies of the Warring from the perspective ofInformal Logic and Conversation Theroy coupled with realevant theories ofCommunication and Persuasion. Furthermore, the paper attempts to analyse the causeand effect, the practice of argumetation, the Plausible Reasonings of relevantinformation sources in the book through argumenttative and analytical approaches ofInformal Logic, as well as comparing the nature, form and inference intensity ofAnalogical reasoning and Comparative Reasoning in the view of dipicting theconversations in Strategies of the Warring from the perspective of Logic ofArgument.Based on Argumentation Theory, one of the three major theory sources of theInformal Logic, the article employs basic Rhetoric, another foundation of InformalLogic, and use Strategies of the Warring States as an example to analyse and comparethe similarities and differences between the illustration methods of Informal Logicand Formal Logic.
