The Silk Book "The Letters of Strategists in Warring States"(Zhan Guo Zong Heng Jia Shu) which unearthed in1973provided valuable information forour language study. And some texts of which can be compared with the handed-down literature "Strategies of the Warring States"(Zhan Guo Ce). This paper is a comparative language study of the unearthed literature "The Letters of Strategists in Warring States" and the handed-down literature "Strategies of the Warring States", including5chapters.The first chapter is an introduction. We gave an overview of "The Letters of Strategists in Warring States" and described the value of this study and research materials, methods and designThe second chapter is a comparative study of words. In this chapter, we sorted out a total of164different groups of words in the two books. We described the60groups of words which are not common.The third chapter is a discrimination of "Mistaken words"(Wu Shi Zi) and "Miswritten words"(Wu Xie Zi).In the6groups of "Mistaken words"(Wu Shi Zi) in "The Letters of Strategists in Warring States", we found four Categories:1, Mistaken the word as another word which has the similar strokes. E.g. mistaken the"(?)(誎)" as "誎"; mistaken the "(?)(埶)" as "执"2, Lack of some necessary clue to explain the word. E.g. need a necessary clue of "捷" to explain the relationship of "(?)(栖)" and "接".3, Mistaken the relationship of two words. E.g. mistaken the relationship of "(?)(支)"and "文"; mistaken the主of "(?)(王)"and"帝".4, Didn’t explain the relationship of two words. E.g. didn’t explain the relationship of "(?)(部)" and "都".In the2groups of "Miswritten words"(Wu Xie Zi) in "Strategies of the Warring States’’ Both of these two "Miswritten words" mistaken the word as another word which has the similar strokes. E.g. mistaken"倍" as "信"; mistaken "爱" as "受" The forth chapter is a comparative study of vocabulary, In this chapter, we have sorted out47groups of Synonyms, including11groups of Nouns,3groups of Adjectives,33groups of verbs, and also made a brief analysis of the causes.Meanwhile, in the fifth chapter, we sorted out and analyze7groups of special vocabulary. We considered that using different vocabulary can lead to semantic change; using different vocabulary can lead to grammatical structure change. In addition, we found an illustration of the development of Chinese vocabulary:one-syllable words to two-syllable words. We also found a new way of the development of Chinese vocabulary with three examples:two-syllable words can arise during the process of Written Chinese transfer to Spoken Chinese.
