Among of them，vocabulary includesterms and language and terms and phrase constitutes the language which is thelanguage units of a variety of functions and fixed structure proverbs，idioms，phrasesand tuisters are an integral part of the language.As the summary of human beings，production and life experiences，proverbs owns the characteristics of vivid structureand qualitative language.It is spreading in the form of oral folk，which owns theeffects of explaining the truth， imparting knowledge and educationed dissuasionproverbs，as a unique linguistic phenomenon，is a mirror of society and culture.It isnot only the people，thoughts and feelings expressed by the specific language forms，but also carries profound cultural connotation.Yun Long is a Bai minority dominated multi-ethnic remot county，which has thebeautiful scenery and figures and cultural atmosphere.Each nation creates a Yun Longcolourful culture in a way of peaceful coexistence and commonly development on thisland.As a mirror image of Bai culture，Bai proverbs are strings of dazzling pearl inBai,s folk literature treasure，meanwhile they are not only the arts crystalline andlanguage essence recution of Bai minority struggles for production and social，butalso a living encyclopedia of Bai people.It,s contents encopars all aspects related tonatural calamities，agricultural crops customs，production practices and social life.Atthe same time，it characterised by language grammer structure，cultural connotationand other aspects.Taking the speech for example，Bai proverbs pay more attention tothe rhyming which forms a harmonious beauty and it,s easy to memorize andspread.In the aspect of choice of words，Bai proverbs are good at using synonyms，antonyms，overlapping syllable words and dialect.All of these words，fulling of strongflavor of life and chararteristics，are not only refined and accurate，but also smart andvivid.In grammer，Bai proverbs contain two syntax forms，they are single sentenceand complex sentence.Between them，complex sentence is in the dominating place.Therefor，Bai proverbs are worth of specialized analysis and research. However，comparing with the folk songs，myths and other folk literature，the research of Baiproverbs is still in the preliminary stage of exploration.In order to develop Bai folkproverbs and promote bai，s culture，I had the idea of writing this thesis based on this topic.Based on the first-hand historical literature，this paper established on the theorymethods of linguistics，lexicology，folklore and cultural anthropology.It discussed thechararteristics of Bai proverbs in Yun Long，classification and social values.The contents are as follows: In according to the requirements of graduate thesiswriting，this article is divided into three parts. Namely，introduction，body andconclusion.There are six chapters in this body part.The first chapter is anintroduction，which includes purposes and significance of the topic，litorature，review，research theory and methods.In the second chapter，it briefly introduced theBai minority，s natural environment as well as their language status and collecting ofproverbs.The classification and chararteristics of Bai proverbs are in the chapterthree.In the category， this thesis mainly classified based on the classification ofproverb and the“Bai proverb”written by Zhang xiangdong which includesself-cultivation proverb，nature proverb，affail proverb，economy proverb，life proverband local condition proverb. In the chararteristics，this thesis mainly analyze form thethree parts of content，structure and rhyming.The features of content can be view inthe following five aspects:richness，knowledge，scientific，regional，minority.Thestructure is analyzed according to the form of proverb， which includes singlesentence，tightening sentence and complex sentence.The fourth chapter analyzes therhetorical features of the Bai proverb， in pragmatics.The common rhetorics aremetaphor，analogy，hyperbole，metonymy，duality contrast and so on. The fifthchapter discussed the cultural connotations reflected by Bai proverbs and some otherfeatures. Bai proverbs reflects colourful Bai，s culture，such as education，industrious，farming inter-personal harmony，festival and etiquette.All of these aspects reflet thespirit of Bai minority and their positive side. However，patriarchal，adaptable，laughing their old feudal are the backward recution. When heritaging Bai proverbs，we should adsorb ist essence and get rude of its dregs，meanwhile，we should alsogive full play to its function of establishing people，s morals and values and reshapingthe modern spiritual charter.The sixth chapter is the conclusion.It summarized thepaper on the whole and pointed out the shortage.The datas that selected for this paperare from “Bai proverb”，“Da Li state reword s”，“Yun Long county records”and someother resources investigated in the field.These information isrelatively complete and isfacilitate to analysis.
