Study On The Cultural Connotation Of Chinese Proverbs

Proverbs are the summary of the experience of our ancestors,but also the epitome of the local conditions and beliefs of a nation.Chinese local proverbs come from ancient proverbs,poems and legends,etc.,which introduce the charming natural scenery,record the ancient and traditional living habits and times of different places,reflect the cordial feelings and strong interests,and play an important role in inheriting and carrying forward the regional culture.In the past,the researches on Chinese local proverbs are mostly about the research on local proverbs in a certain region,or the macro grasp of the nature and value of local proverbs,and lack of comprehensive and systematic overall research.On the basis of abundant corpus and using the research method of cultural linguistics,this paper attempts to give a systematic description of Chinese proverbs and explore their profound cultural connotation.The content of this paper is mainly divided into four parts: the first part divides Chinese local proverbs into natural environment proverbs,cultural and historical proverbs,flavor proverbs and folk customs proverbs according to the different contents of expression,and further classifies and interprets them;The second part analyzes the form characteristics of Chinese proverbs,pointing out that they are flexible in rhyme,sonorous in rhythm but weak in tone and tone.In terms of discourse patterns,there are such characteristics as "parallel mode","comparison mode","conditional mode" and other various fixed format;The third part summarizes the pragmatic rhetoric of Chinese proverbs,and analyzes its use of rhetorical devices such as antithesis,exaggeration,metaphor,contrast,parallelism,repetition,veracity,and analogies.The fourth part summarizes the cultural functions of Chinese folk sayings as cultural record function,cultural transmission function,cultural education function and cultural identity function,and elaborates one by one.
