A Study On The Public Cultural Service Of Migrant Workers In Yulin City

With the acceleration of China’s social transition, the migrant workers of rural registration who don’t perform agricultural activities flow from the rural to the urban. This group is engaged in various types of work in cities. They promote the development of urban economy and bring elements of modernity from the urban to the rural society and boost the modernization of rural development. Thus this group has become the third pole between the urban and the rural areas. At present, an in-depth study for the problem of migrant workers’public cultural services has important theoretical and realistic significance. It can not only effectively explore the new change, new features and new requirements of migrant workers, but can also inspire this group’s enthusiasm in each respect and integration into the urban. As a result, it can finally motivate the harmonious development of a society.Although the scholars in recent years have done a lot of research on the question of public cultural services, however, this problem has not been solved. The study of the related issues of public cultural services is in accordance with the modernization and progress of the society as a whole. As a special social phenomenon in China, to solve this problem cannot only rely on imitation and reference of the successful experience. And the key is to search a suitable pattern agreeing with China’s regional features. This article selects Yu Lin of shaanxi province as investigation object. Yu Lin locates in the western areas of the emerging energy cities. This paper uses Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, the Marxist theory of needs, social capital theory as the theoretical perspectives, combined with the unstructured interview and questionnaire survey method, aiming to study the basic situation of the public cultural services for migrant workers in Yu Lin, to present the main problems, and to dig out the deep reasons behind the problems. And ultimately it puts forward the corresponding solutions.This paper is divided into five chapters altogether:The introduction part mainly discusses four questions. First it introduces the research background of Yu Lin migrant workers’public cultural services. Next, it illustrates the theoretical and practical significance of the study. Then it summarizes the achievements and theories attained. Lastly, it elaborates on the research method adopted in this paper. This chapter provides background basis and methods for the study of the Yu Lin migrant workers’public cultural services.The second chapter is mainly about the related concepts, theoretical basis and content of migrant workers’ public cultural services in Yu Lin, providing the theoretical guidance of public cultural services for the next chapter. First, it defines the relative concepts of public cultural services of migrant workers in Yu Lin in this study. Second, it cards the major theories closely related to the public cultural services of migrant workers. Then it sums up the contents which should be included in the public cultural services of migrant workers. In the end it outlines the characteristics of the migrant workers’ public cultural services.The third chapter mainly presents the current situation of the public cultural services in Yu Lin and summarizes the main problems. First based on the data of questionnaire, it introduces the age, level of education, and the jobs of migrant workers in Yu Lin and etc. Then it makes a summary of the basic situation and cognitive behavior of public cultural services in Yu Lin and so on, laying the foundation for the analysis of the next chapter.The fourth chapter summarizes the main problems existing in Yu Lin migrant workers’ public cultural services, and expounds the subjective and objective reasons of the problems in public cultural services. Migrant workers’working characteristics, sense of low participation,and low scientific and cultural level form the subjective reason of the low participation of public cultural services, while institutional factors, such as social cultural environment is the main reason for the objective aspect. Exploring the reason of the problem of public cultural services of rural migrant workers in Yu Lin, you can find the regularity, so as to better solve the problems of the migrant workers’ public cultural service nowadays and in the future.The fifth chapter focuses on the analysis of main problems and reasons in the fourth chapter and puts forward the countermeasure. It offers some suggestions to perfect Yu Lin migrant workers’ public cultural services, to set up the correct idea, to clear the subject of the migrant workers’ public cultural services and to improve Yu Lin migrant workers’public cultural service system and so on, in order to better meet the demand of Yu Lin migrant workers’ public cultural services and promote the perfection of the public culture service system for the migrant workers.
