In Chinese teaching and researching, synonyms discrimination plays an important part in vocabulary. When it comes to teaching Chinese as a second language, synonyms discrimination becomes more important. Students often feel puzzled for how to use synonyms right and well. Lots of scholar and teachers did research on synonyms discrimination and came out with many papers, monographs, dictionaries, which has made contributions to synonyms discrimination. The problem is there are a larger number of synonyms in Chinese, therefore, some of them are not researched before. The writer found that the explanation of“一会儿”and’‘一下儿”in dictionaries and textbooks are very close. Therefore, students feel difficult when they’re learning to use these two word.Firstly, this thesis analyses“一会儿”and’‘一下儿”;secondly, distinguishes’‘一会儿”and“一下儿”;thirdly, analyses the reason why the foreign students have bias when they’re learning these two words; at last, the writer have some suggestions for the teaching of“一会儿”and“一下儿”in teaching Chinese as a second language. The writer hopes that her research can give help to foreign students to learn these two words.This thesis focuses on distinguishing“一会儿”and“一下儿”on semantic and syntactic. On semantic, distinguish these two words from the length of time, the meaning of attemption, the meaning of urgency, the meaning of politeness; On synatactic, distinguish these two words from sentence elements, fixed structure, negative structure, and verb choosing. And also analyzed the bias which the foreign students had when they’re learning these two words, according to the bias, the writer have some suggestions for teaching of“一会儿”and“一下儿”in teaching Chinese as a second language.This thesis have five parts in total.The first chapter mainly discusses the reason why the writer choose the subject and the introduction of the background information of related research. And also introduce the source of the language material.Chapter two is analysis’‘一会儿”and“一下儿”on semantic and syntactic. First, the analysis“一会儿”:second, analysis“一下儿”.Chapter there is distinguishing“一会儿”and“一下儿”on semantic and syntactic.
