A Study On The Vocabulary Usage Of Classroom Students In The Primary Stage

Based on the lexical category,the article divides the vocabulary used by primary level foreign student into12categories, including nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, quantifiers, prepositions, pronouns, conjunctions, auxiliaries, modals, word parts and fixed phases.The article calculates the figure of the sum and the frequency of both high-frequency and low-frequency words which used by primary level foreign students in class.Comparing these figures with the calculation result of textbooks, it is clearly seen that these two group statistics are highly relevant similar.lt means that the input of the textbook can influent the output of the foreign students, at least in the class.Based on the level of the vocabulary, A-class and B-class level words are widely used in primary level foreign students in the class.The distribution of the word levels are equally related with that in textbooks.The superclass vocabulary used by foreign students are always related with Chinese culture, hot topic in China and their own countries.This phenomenon worths experts’concentrating.Based on the richness of vocabulary, the figure of the vocabulary richness of the primary student is0.012while the figure of vocabulary richness of textbook is0.016, which means the primary level foreign students still have chance to abundant their vocabulary.Based on the error examples, the article divides230cases into structural errors and usage errors and try to put them into more detailed errors types.Furthermore, the article analysis these errors in detail and the causes of these errors.Above all, the article tries to offer some references to the writing of the textbook and teaching methods.
