Imperial power occupies a very important place in Chinese history. In221B.C. The First Emperor of Qin unified China, built the first dynasty of autocratic centralization system, and established the supreme power of emperor. From then on, the imperial power became stronger and stronger in the following times.Dating back to the early twenty thousand years ago, pottery has already been the articles of daily use in China. As three thousand years ago at the middle of Shang dynasty, Chinese people has learnt to make proto-porcelain and dating back to one thousand eight hundred years ago, by the Eastern Han dynasty, mature celadon was achieved to be made. The porcelain has never stopped to make since it invention. In the long history of China, the development of porcelain influenced by many parts, among which the most important one is imperial power. From Qin dynasty to Qing dynasty, imperial power had never weakened its influence on ceramics. As times went on, imperial power became stronger and stronger, and correspondingly, imperial power’s influence on ceramics became more and more obvious.Ming dynasty was defined as the late feudal society of China, at this time, imperial power was unprecedented prominent, and porcelain was influenced by imperial power in every aspects, which closely related to the development and vicissitude of Ming dynasty. The Article discusses reflex of the imperial power and its influence to porcelain on Ming dynasty in three aspects.First part concerns the reflex of imperial power of Ming dynasty on porcelain. In the early Ming dynasty, the imperial kiln was constructed, and by this the government strengthened their control on porcelain. Imperial porcelain was separated from civil porcelain, and the shape, decoration and size of imperial porcelain were specially designed by particular government departments, and some even was authorized by emperor to be created, therefore, the behavior, hobby, religious beliefs, policy objective of emperor more or less had influence on those porcelain. At the same time, in order to protect his unique, supreme position, the emperor of Ming dynasty announced different relevant legislation forcedly. In Ming dynasty, emperor monopolized not only the best craftsmen, best materials, but also several specific porcelain varieties and decorations. In a nutshell, Federal ideas affect the porcelain significantly.Second part involves the positive and negative effect on porcelain caused by the interference of imperial power of Ming dynasty. Because of rigorous quality requirements and huge demand, the craftsmen of imperial kiln had to try best to improve their skills and boost the rate of finished products. At the same time, the marvelous skills and high-quality products also bred the improvement of civil kiln to a certain degree. However, some malapropos policy, outmoded system hindered the development of porcelain visibly or invisiblyThird part describes the relationship between vicissitude of imperial power and the porcelain. Imperial kiln was under control of government who funded it, as a result, imperial kiln inevitable raised and fell with the ups and downs of imperial power. In the early Ming dynasty, imperial power was strong, so the products of imperial kiln were high-quality and quite exquisite, however, imperial kiln declined with the fell of Ming dynasty correspondingly, which actually gave the civil kiln opportunity to develop.The article starts with the imperial power, and its analysis includes the following respects:the reflex of imperial power of Ming dynasty on porcelain, the influence of imperial power on porcelain, the relationship between ups and downs of imperial power and porcelain.
